Retiring to New Beginnings

Retiring to New Beginnings

Our clients were starting the next chapter of their life in a new city – Kelowna. Now retired, they wanted the new space to reflect their desire for a fresh start; a space where they could enjoy life at a slower pace and also entertain their adult children and extended family. They chose a beautiful lake front property and asked us to design the interior of the home they had conceived with their architect. Although their past home had been a traditional style, they wanted their new home to be modern, simple and clean while still retaining the warmth and comfort of their previous, more traditional home.

The materials feel fresh and cool during the warm
summers of the Okanagan while infusing the interior with warmth during the cold winter months. This was a priority for us during the selection of all the finishes.

The views are the focus and we oriented all the
furniture to that.

Large family gatherings are frequent so we designed and selected the furniture to accommodate large groups and ensure everyone was comfortable.

This is a pet and family friendly home so the flooring chosen is both durable and beautiful.

“We’ve had Good Space do remodelling projects for us in the past and we’ve just finished building our new home where they were involved from start to finish. Dwaina took the plans from the architect and translated them into a comfortable, liveable home for us. Her team diligently worked through every stage with our builder, being ever cognizant of lifestyle needs and budgeting issues. The end result has been a home that, although modern in design, feels like home and not a hotel. LOVE these ladies!”
